Born from a desire to provide a different approach to a quality education, MITCH Sherwood Charter School opened its doors to 32 students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade in September 2005.  Originally an offshoot from MITCH Charter School in Tigard, Sherwood Charter School became an entirely separate entity in June 2009, governed by its own Board of Directors.

Through the dedication of this board, the talented faculty and staff, and the loving efforts and support of students’ parents, that commitment to academic excellence continues today. Now in its tenth year of operation, SCS has grown to 225 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Sherwood Charter School has consistently earned the ranking of “Outstanding” by the Oregon Department of Education.
