DESCRIPTION:On October 31st\, students may choose to wear free dress\, fall colors or simple Halloween costumes. In addition to individual classroom guidelines\, please follow the guidelines  below to minimize disruption and maximize the fun: \n\nTeachers/Staff cannot be responsible for putting on\, taking off\, or managing costumes. One suggestion is to have your child wear part of their costume to school. Phone calls home for forgotten costume items will not be allowed.\nCostumes should be appropriate for all regular school activities like quiet work times\, recess\, and P.E. Please be aware of the activities your child will be doing\, and know that their costume may come back soiled/damaged. Tennis shoes are required for P.E. Consider sending your student with back up clothing in the event their costume fails.\nMinimal make-up is allowed\, but students are not to bring any makeup items to school for application. No full face makeup or colored hair spray\, as it will often come off on clothing\, costumes\, school supplies\, food\, and school furniture. If the makeup is creating a problem\, your child may be asked to wash it off.\nCostumes should not include accessories such as guns\, knives\, swords\, pitchforks or any other items that make them scary\, gory\, or violent. Any such clothing items are not allowed\, and students inappropriately dressed on free dress day will be asked to change. DESCRIPTION:The SCS Student Council invites all SCS middle school students to a “Helping Hollywood” Winter Dance on Thursday\, January 23rd from 6:00-7:30 pm in the school gym. \nStudents can look forward to a glamorous evening with Hollywood-themed decorations\, a faux red carpet\, dancing\, and delicious food. The school will provide pizza\, while snacks\, drinks\, and sweets will be generously supplied by the PAC and parent volunteers. Additionally\, the student council will be hosting a fundraiser\, and students are encouraged to bring optional cash donations. All funds raised will be donated to the American Red Cross efforts in LA and the surrounding areas. \nThe dress code for the evening will be free-dress or nicer (please reference the policy on the website). \nDrop-off will follow the same procedures as the morning car line\, while pick-up will commence at 7:25 PM and continue through 7:35 PM. Cars will line up similarly to the morning carline routine and students will be released through the auditorium doors. \nSee the email from Ms. Ilise for information!
