While the announcement that came last week from Governor Brown that school sites would be closed for the 2019-2020 school year is not what we hoped for, it is a step that gives us certainty and provides us direction. We will continue our commitment to maintaining care, connection, and continuity of learning to SCS families through these incredible circumstances.
As we wrap up the first week of Distance Learning for All, we want to thank you for your continued partnership as we explore this brand new learning platform together. Each day we see improvement with the challenges of distance learning and know things will continue to get better as they become more routine.
In the upcoming weeks, we will continue to refine our Distance Learning for All plan by providing additional support materials such as daily class schedules, new resources, and continued technical support. We will also provide a timeline for how we will wrap up the year, when we plan to get all student items from the classroom to families, and a plan for how checked out items will be returned to the school.
This is a challenging time. Learning has changed significantly and we know that remote learning cannot replicate the traditional school day. However, as everyone does their best each day, we are confident of success moving forward. Take care of yourselves, give grace, and show understanding as we find new ways to appreciate the current look of learning.
